2CV body & body parts with the Mehari Club Cassis
Over more than thirty years of production of the famous Citroën, the 2CV body has undergone various changes e.g. changing the engine board at the front, the centre pillar, rear panel or the quarter panels. Among the most notable developments is mainly the appearance of the tailgate in September 1957, the stopping of the suicide doors in December 1964 with the losing of the double grooves on the centre pillar or even the appearance of the quarter glasses in September 1965. The 2CV Méhari Club Cassis offers two types of new 2CV bodies in its catalogue: a first model with right-hand drive and a second one with left-hand drive. These references are compatible with the different 2CV models manufactured after April 1967 and all have a warranty of 10 years. They include the famous third side window at the centre of the rear quarter panels, as well as a cutting of the dashboard sheet that allows accommodating the large 12V gauge model. These 2CV bodies are manufactured in our workshops and are equipped with electrolytic zinc-coated sheets, an original windscreen opening, a complete original rear panel and side panels and original floors. These original parts, which are an exclusive feature of our company, are alike in all respects to the historical parts and provide for perfect safety and reliability. The unrivalled quality of the original parts that form our 2CV bodies also guarantees a perfect adjustment of all the elements and particularly the different points of fastening thanks to a strict compliance with the dimensions and specifications of the manufacturer. This for example greatly facilitates the assembly of the bodywork elements on the body or that of the body on the platform frame. The leak-tightness of these new bodies is ensured with polyurethane mastic while they undergo an anti-corrosion treatment by cataphoresis bath. This process includes immersing the parts in baths through which a low electric current is passed. The anticorrosive treatment is thus given by electrolysis, in a homogeneous manner on all the surfaces, including the cavities, while preventing any risk of bubbles or imperfections. Numerous references constituting the 2CV bodies are also sold individually in this section: half panels and
side panels, interiors of rear wing, skin plates, specific plates and reinforcements of plates, cross members, floor reinforcements, wing interior or boot floor, tailgate and bumper supports, 2CV rocker panels, table plates, etc. The owners of the 2CV of before April 1967 can also have the body of their 2CV renovated with our teams. They first check the condition and mainly the corrosion of each of the parts of the 2CV body and replace all those that are damaged with original components before reworking the leak-tightness of the unit, applying an anti-rust treatment to it complemented by anti-gravel protection. Thanks to a full filling of the assembly planes, the renovated 2CV bodies are delivered ready to be painted or can be painted on quotation in our Cassis workshops.
