A Michelin range for a large number of classic vehicles
Classic,
white side band or double rivet tyres, we reference numerous historic models in our shop to equip a particularly large number of cars ranging from the 1920s to the 1980s, from pre-war collector vehicles to so-called "youngtimers" which were only marketed a few decades ago.
The so-called double rivet tyre is the one used on the oldest cars. The "double rivet", which describes the emblematic tread pattern of these tyres, appeared at the beginning of the 1920s with the first generation of so-called "beaded" tyres. It remained a standard until the 1940s. The First World War and the decades that followed were in fact a formidable accelerator for tyre technologies, with the appearance of carbon black in 1917, which made it possible to increase the longevity of the "rubber" fivefold. It was then the introduction in 1919 of parallel textile cords in the carcass of the tyres that gave rise to the so-called "corded" models, and then, from 1923, to the "comfort corded" models, the first low-pressure passenger tyres (2.5 bars).
Among the emblematic vehicles that can be equipped with our Michelin double rivet offer are the Italian Alfa Romeo 8C, Fiat 514 or Lancia Astura, the American Buick 50, Cadillac 314, Chrysler 6 or Ford A and AN or the Iberian Hispano-Suiza. These tyres are also recommended for a large number of French cars which were in their golden age at the time and of which a certain number of makes have now disappeared: the Amilcar CG5, L, M or N, the Berliet VR or VI, the famous Delage D5, D6 and DM, the Delahaye 110, 112, 122, 123, 126, 148 and 175, the Matford W 6, the Lorraine B36, the late Mathis, Rochet Schneider or Salmson. Our Michelin offer also includes emblematic French models and brands such as the Bugatti 37, 40 and 57 S, the Peugeot 172, 177, 183, 184, 201 and 301, the Citroën B14, C4 and C6, the Renault Monaquatre, Monasix, Monastella, Nervasport, Primaquatre, Primastella, Vivasport or Vivastella as well as the Talbot Baby, Lago and M67, or the Voisin C 12, C 25 and C 30.
